Summer arrival brings cruises to Cagliari

Four ships will call the port on the two days of 4th and 5th June. This is the beginning of the most intense cruise flow of the annual program.

It starts on Monday 4th with AIDA Stella, ship of the AIDA Cruises Company, the German brand of Carnival Corporation, and the Pan Orama II.

AIDA Stella, which is flying the Italian flag, will arrive at 1:00 PM with its 2.500 passengers and over 600 crew members, to leave at 8:00 PM.

The luxury motorsail Pan Orama II, instead, arriving at 2:00 PM, will stop until the following day to carry out "homeport" operations, that means the disembarking of all its British passengers on board at the end of its vacation and then boarding of new passengers coming from England, thanks to the direct connection of London with Cagliari - Elmas Airport.

At the arrival hall of the airport there will be a dedicated meeting point set up by the Cagliari Cruise Port to await the new guests and to give the incoming cruise passengers a welcome in the City of Cagliari and offer them the necessary assistance.

Tuesday will be the busiest day, with three ships simultaneously in the port: the same Pan Orama II, which will leave at 5:00 PM after boarding all the new passengers, the MSC Divina (with its 4,000 passengers and 1,300 crew members) and the Queen Elisabeth ship, of the prestigious English Company Cunard Line (2,000 passengers and about 1,000 crew members).

The cruise traffic will be less intense but still conspicuous after these two dates: starting from Wednesday onwards are expected, one after the other one, the ships Oriana (1,700 passengers and about 700 crew members) and Costa Diadema (4,250 passengers and about 1,250 crew members).

To crown the week there will be the call, scheduled for Saturday 9th, of the Ocean Dream ship, also known as "Peace Boat", named after the international non-governmental and non-profit organization based in Japan, working to promote peace, human rights, equal and sustainable development and respect for the environment.

Almost 20,000 guests will arrive in Cagliari on board the cruise ships in the coming days, confirming a volume of traffic that is rewarding the efforts and the fruitful work carried out in collaboration between Cagliari Cruise Port, the Port Authority System of the Sardinia Sea and the Municipality in order to develop the destination of the port, the city and the South Sardinia in the international cruise market.
