Saint Lucia Cruise Port ended the month of January with inaugural calls by four vessels, AIDAmar from AIDA Cruises on January 4th, Odyssey of the Seas from Royal Caribbean Cruises on January 21st, Majestic Princess from Princess Cruises on January 27th and Iona from P&O Cruises on January 28th, 2025.
Representatives from the Ministry of Tourism, Saint Lucia Tourism Authority, Invest Saint Lucia, Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority, port agents Cox and Company and Platinum Port Agency as well as Saint Lucia Cruise Port, made up the cohort of individuals who welcomed all vessels to the island and participated in the plaque exchange ceremonies.
AIDAmar started 2025 with her inaugural call on January 4th, under Captain Manuel Pannzek who provided a tour of the bridge and welcomed all the representatives aboard. AIDAmar makes her impressive journey of a total of 43 days voyage and over 15 ports of call during her current itinerary.
Odyssey of the Seas boasted a total of 4,379 passengers and 1633 crew members who visited the island under the guidance of Captain Marek Slaby. Representatives of the various entities were treated to views of Port Castries from above as they experienced the North Star attraction, which provides outstanding 360-degree views from 300 feet in the sky.
Majestic Princess visited the island with a total of 3478 passengers and 1321 crew members. Captain Castellano Giuseppe expressed his appreciation stating, “Saint Lucia is indeed a beautiful island with warm people, and I know the passengers and crew are keenly excited to visit the island today.”
On the inaugural call of Iona, Saint Lucia Cruise Port had the privilege of inviting Ms. Hidra Charlery, owner of Top Banana, a souvenir store at La Place Carenage, as a member of the delegation to welcome Captain Martin Allen and his team. Ms. Charlery, who has been self-employed for 8 years, is one of the persons who directly benefits from the cruise industry and the influx of both passengers and crew every season.
With the arrival of these four new vessels, Port Castries recorded an additional 14,875 passengers and 5,375 crew. Saint Lucia Cruise Port looks forward to more inaugural calls and growth in the number of visitors to the island throughout this current year and the next cruise season.
