ENAPOR - Portos de Cabo Verde notes with great satisfaction the success of the inauguration ceremony of the Mindelo Cruise Port, held on June 21 in the city of Mindelo, on the island of São Vicente.
Presided over by His Excellency the Prime Minister of Cape Verde, Dr. Ulisses Correia e Silva, the ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of the Netherlands to Cape Verde, Mrs. Carmen Hagenaars, the Deputy Director General for International Partnerships of the European Union, Mrs. Myriam Ferran, members of the Government, local authorities, diplomatic corps, economic operators and representatives of civil society, making it a symbolic and historic moment for the development of the country's port and tourism sector.
The new Cruise Port is characterized by its excellent technical and operational conditions, which include a modern berth with capacity to receive large ships, functional buildings with spacious and comfortable areas, state-of-the-art support equipment and high standards of safety and accessibility. This infrastructure is designed to provide an excellent experience for cruise passengers, tour operators and local economic agents alike.
In January, ENAPOR partnered with Global Ports Holding, the world’s largest cruise port operator, to support the development and efficient operation of the new terminal. This collaboration aims to enhance service standards and contribute to positioning Cape Verde as a leading destination in the international cruise industry.
With this structuring investment, Cape Verde strengthens its position as a competitive destination in the international cruise market, paving the way for a new economic dynamic in São Vicente and the other islands, with positive impacts on tourism, trade and job creation.
ENAPOR would like to thank all the partners and entities that contributed to the success of the project and the inauguration ceremony, reaffirming its commitment to the continuous modernization of national ports and the sustainable development of the country.
