    Greenock Cruise Port Welcomes First Call Under Global Ports Holding Management

    Greenock Cruise Port officially commenced operations under the management of Global Ports Holding (GPH) today with the arrival of MSC Preziosa, marking the port’s first cruise call as part of the world’s largest cruise port operator's global network.

    The call was commemorated with a traditional Scottish welcome as MSC Preziosa guests were greeted by the sound of local bagpiper John MacInnes. On hand to welcome the vessel were Captain Lorenzo Sapeti, Ian Kay, Liverpool Cruise Port Operations Manager, and Gary Lyons, port agent from Denholm Port Services.

    "This first cruise call under GPH's stewardship is a proud moment for Greenock and a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved," said John Mawer, General Manager of Greenock and Liverpool Cruise Ports. "We are excited about the future and the positive impact Greenock Cruise Port will continue to have on the local economy and tourism."

    Strategically located on the banks of the River Clyde, just 25 miles west of Glasgow, Greenock Cruise Port offers convenient access to some of Scotland’s most iconic cultural and natural landmarks. The port is ideally positioned to serve as a gateway to Glasgow, Edinburgh, and the Scottish Highlands, with excellent road and rail connectivity supporting seamless shore excursion experiences.

    This milestone marks the beginning of a new chapter for Greenock Cruise Port, reinforcing GPH’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the cruise guest experience and contributing to the sustainable growth of Scotland’s cruise tourism sector.
