On May 18th, Noble Caledonia cruise ship Panorama II has arrived at Cagliari Cruise Port - Rinascita Pier Terminal.
Over 40 passengers have been welcomed by Cagliari Cruise Port team that will serve as the last destination for all the guests on board. The cruise passengers have taken different shore excursions spread through the city prior to going to the Elmas Airport for their flight to London.
On the same day, 40 new guests of Panorama II have arrived to Cagliari to start a new cruise in the Mediterranean.
A dedicated meeting point was prepared at the airport to provide the incoming cruise passengers a warm welcome to the City of Cagliari, as well as to improve the ease and efficiency of the operations.
It is the first concrete operational test for Cagliari, numerically small but particularly significant, in understanding of the memorandum recently signed between the Port Authority of the Sardinia Sea, the Municipality of Cagliari, the Sogaer (Cagliari-Elmas Airport Company) and Cagliari Cruise Port, to promote and develop the homeport operations in synergy.
The experience will be very useful to all the actors in the supply chain as Cagliari will be a potential homeport for all cruise ships traveling in the Med region. Cagliari Cruise Port will continue to communicate the concrete demonstration in the scheduled meetings with the industry players.
The homeport operations will be supported by the project that Cagliari Cruise Port intends to implement for the expansion of the cruise terminal, which is planned to be completed before the start of the cruise season 2019.
